I did not see a space for it either, just curious.. It's amazing how different WM have different things sometimes in different towns or counties. The WM that i usually use has it all. If i ever go to that town again i won"t be stopping there..lol

Yes, they do.

Some years ago I bough some M1 xW20 on clearance for $2-3/qt(at that time M1 didn't have 0W40 in 5qt jug), other WM's in the same town(Santa Ana) had it at full retail price.

The Walmart that had M1 xW20 is in a not so nice neighborhood, most their customers were driving 15-20 years old beat up cars and their cars needed xW40. A couple years later they still didn't have any xW20 of any brand.

Corporate has no ideal which is local favorite and which isn't, so the local manager has the power to stock what they can sell.

You are spot on with your analysis here Captain. I think this is why my local Walmart has a poor selection of oil. In my area of town mostly high end houses are at people don't do even change their own oil. So, my local Walmart in Williamsburg does not have a great selection. Now in the Wally world near a place called Mechanicsville ( appropiately named I might add) their store has all kinds of cool oil to buy. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in all viscosities, every type of Mobil one plus more. Probably because those people nearby actually do some of their own maintainance. If I am hankering to find and get what I want then I drive 45 minutes west on Interstate 64 and hit interstate 295 to that store.

Exactly. Even in a city as small as this one, there's a differing selection by store, basically because of the neighborhoods. A few years back, a manager had a good idea (well, at least I would have thought it was a good idea) to bring in a load of the VWB when it was being sold at $9.88 a jug, and I mean a load of it, pallet after pallet. In Canada, that should have moved. Unfortunately, that Walmart is surrounded by condos, with hardly a house within a mile range, so, unfortunately, that VWB sat there at $9.88 a jug for months.

Who even talks mechanical advice with a,walmart employee?

My questions for them revolve around item location and that's it.

I had one try to tell me that Hornady 17hmr rounds are more reliable than cci 17hmr. I just said, "wow, I'll keep that in mind. Can I get a box of those ccis?"

CCI loads Hornaday 17hmr rounds.

My point is I'm usually more educated on the object I'm looking for than they are. So why bother?

I don't think they use GTL on Quaker State, but it smells like the worst overly ripe arm pits you've ever smelled. I've had to experience it twice so far -- once to remove a leaky oil filter and the second time to fix a leaky oil pressure sender. The third time will be the last time hopefully.

May I respectfully suggest that, if it's overripe armpits you're whiffing, that -- after changing oil in the summer -- it might well be the car's owner?

You mean this guy who never posted the UOA to show the alleged oxidation?

Why would you allow 1 person to sway your decision-making processes when so many others have said good things about QSUD? I ran it twice in my Azera and it was fine. I stopped using QSUD (and all synthetics) and switched to conventionals in the Azera due to fuel dilution which "killed" the oil long before oxidation or mileage.

As I said before **any** synthetic can do a 7500 mile highway OCI...you do not "need" M1EP, but if you "want" to use it...carry on.

If you use M1 you will get increased engine noise. Unlike the QS oxidation, it's a well-documented issue.

I use it in my Yota once and it sounded like a tractor.

That makes no sense at all.

A riding mower, maybe, but never a tractor.

I have never noticed a foul smell when changing my oil, or sniffing the oil filler caps of our three vehicles. I always use M-1, so it must be good stuff. Never noticed any engine noise either with M-1. Over the years I have noticed that 5w30 M-1 makes for a superior gun lube.

The prime rib I had for dinner last night gave me an unsatisfactory smell this morning. I better send a sample to WM manager for analysis.
