Was used on the Crown Vic for a 5000 mile interval with HPL no VII euro 10w-30. Cleanest filter I've seen on this car yet, see my other threads to see how much cleanup has occured. Finally no visible metal, although there was still some black grit, which I assume is carbon. I will be sending the oil to get tested and will put a link in this thread to the results.
As far as the filter goes, I really like the construction. Thick metal on the can and solid baseplate, really can't identify any issue with the media or anything else. A Fleetguard LF16002 went on in its place, which I'll probably stick with going forward, but this would be my second choice for this application.

Yeah, not liking the looks of the super wide pleat spacing area shown. In my observation, not typical Mahle filter quality seen here. If it didn't tear, very fortunate.

Thanks for c&p.

I opened up the pleat to get a better look for debris, pleat spacing was even before that

I did spread that pleat open, you can get a better idea of the actual pleat spacing from the photos where the filter is still on the filter cutter. There were no media tears

This one was manufactured in China
Thanks.

Mahle makes excellent quality filters and unsurprisingly their China CoO filters appear as good as their Europe CoO products from seeing the several Porsche filters I have cut apart. I would not expect less from Mahle. That beings said, I avoid the China ones when I can but not for quality reasons.
