Magnetic Filtration Device (MFD)?

I was reading this months Car Craft and came across a small ad in the back for a Magnetic Filtration Device (MFD) from Pareto Point Industries.

It looks like it works similar to the Filtermag, but it puts the magnets in the oil flow instead of on the outside of the filter.

Anyone ever used one of these? Any opinions?

I am using magnets from a company I cannot recall just right now. It attaches to the side of the oil filter or the bottom of the auto-transmission pan. Two of my cars carry this the third does not require it because it runs a TP bypass filter.

I just started useing the FilterMag and the Super Pulg on my last oil change I hope that they help.

As an experiment I put some magnets inside my OilGuard bypass filter.

OilGuard with neodymium magnets

I’m anxious to see what they look like when I change the filter next month (I’ll post some pics if anyone’s interested). The bypass element with the magnets will have approx 20k miles of use. Iron (Fe) levels in the last two UOA’s with the magnets were 6 and 5 ppm.
