Mag1 syn 5w-20

WPP makes good oils. Id use it without hesitation. Id put it up there against most other name brand oils in OCIs less than 7.5k. It has a very good additive package, 2500ppm ca, 180ppm boron, and good Z & P numbers.

If ever there was a case for Amazon Prime this would be it; free 2nd day shipping. I am guessing the shipping cost without Prime would be massive--it weighs nearly 429 pounds.

With that said, I would not hesitate to use it, WPP makes good products.

Im looking at the 0w-20 and 5w-20 to run in a 03 honda cr-v, 2007 honda fit, and a 2010 transit connect.

this pdf does not show where it meets any of the ford or honda requirements.. any thoughts??

Thats because Ford does not recommend or require (OM language) the use of 0w20 oils, yet. Although using a 0w20 is a great combo in a Ford if it is spec'd for 5w20, just ask Tig.

viscosity was at 8.06 when new, I would want to run 7k oci, that a bit low for starting viscosity?

I would run Mag1 oils for no other reason than they are completly upfront with the content information of their products. Why can't the other maunfacturers be this open and honest about their products?

It is at least on par with all of the other OTS syns, and maybe a bit better. At that price, it's certainly a better vaule than the others.

They are very up front and responsive to inquiries. They even disclosed that Afton manufactures their additive packages to me. Try to find another blender or brand that will disclose that!
I use Warren Distribution oils whenever I can get them cheap. I have a ton of Peak 10w40 to use in my Jeep 4.0.

is the zddp additive ok for newer engines? I was reading somewhere that its primarily for older engines.

They also have:

Mag 1 (60181) 5w30 API:SN/GF-5 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil - 55 Gallon Drum

for $508.75 w free shipping

Advanced synthetic blend offers better antioxidant, sludge control and TBN retention
For everyday use
Formulated with a new ZDDP additive for extended wear performance
Compatible with leading conventional and synthetic motor oils

I wonder if it's dexos1 ?

Mag 1 dexos is a different oil, but I would bet that Peak FS 5w30 is the same as Mag 1 dexos. I can't see Warren Distribution blending more than one dexos oil. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they introduced a dexos oil for the primary purpose of selling it to private label customers looking for a licensed product.

I did not see that when I tried, but good to know; I have Amazon Prime so it would be free 2nd day. But, I assume this is truck shipped though; am guessing that Fed-Ex or UPS would not deliver this?

Peak Oil is maunfactured by Old World Industries, not WPP.

Not sure off hand, but there are dexos1 licensed Mag1 products.

Yep, I asked them that question too since the PDS info for their regular sy and dexos1 5w30 were very similar. They said that their dexos1 oil is different from their regular syn 5w30, and neither one of them were the same as the SuperTech syn 5w30 they blend for WalMart.

They said that the order was dexos1 > regular syn 5w30 > SuperTech 5w30.
