I have come to respect mag1 products and having a good value for the specs they meet. Plus you can usually get a good price with free shipping on amazon.

M1 and Amsoil are in a higher tier than mag1, but of course so is the price.

Other than that, it should be good.

What would you consider a long drain interval? I am going with every 30k from here on, would it be sufficient for that?
Or should I just open my wallet a little more and spring for M1 or Amsoil?

I would use the Mag 1 with confidence for a long run, as long as it meets the spec's for your vehicle.

I'm running M1 ATF in my 1997 Toyota 4Runner, that is spec'd for Dex III, and the ATF fluid is still bright red after 45 K miles on the fluid.

The only reason I'm running M1 is due to the fact, that at one time, the discount codes were applicable to ATF at Advance Auto Parts.....so I loaded up on M1 for about $4 a quart after discounts.

I also added a 10 to 12 ounce bottle of Lube Guard Red which is something to consider.

IMO....Mag 1, out of Nebraska, makes some real stellar products.

2 questions:

Why on their spec sheet do they say "Suitable for Use" and "Meets Requirements"? What's the difference?

Do you think this is comparable for Mercon V use to M1? M1 and Amsoil seem to last longer than semi syn MV fluids so could Mag1 be a significant upgrade with no price premium?

Mercon V and Mazda V are NOT the same fluid. The Ford equivalent to Mazda is FRN 5.
Mercon V and Mazda V are not interchangeable

Yep, myself and many others already know that.

If you were pointing this out because I asked a question about Mercon V, I asked that question because Mag 1 says it meets Mercon V requirements and is a full syn. Just like M1 and Amsoil. At one time M1 was officially licensed Mercon V.

This is a trade name of Warren Distribution. Warren is one of the smaller lubricant companies, along the lines of Schaeffer and some of the other regionals. I'd call them a blender rather than a manufacturer.

I've seen them on DOD contract awards for spec lubricants.

The spec sheet really doesn't tell you much. Were I to guess I would say it is a Group III base with one of the large additive company's multi-vehicle ATF packages.

Sorry I guess I got a little too full of myself there.

I just ordered the low-viscosity version for the Honda. That price on Amazon was too good to pass up. I'll update on how it goes.
