Hi all, long time reader first time poster

I don't see to much on Mag 1 oils.

The conventional regularly goes on sale at the local farm store for 8.99 a 5 quart jug, regular it is 13.99, this is for all the popular viscosity.

I read its the same as super tech which seems to be decently respected. (made by warren)

I have run it before in general use tractors and small engines. May switch over to it in all my cars to save some coin.

1997 GMC jimmy 4.3 V6 with 140K (Spare)
1999 Toyota Land Cruiser 4.7 V8 178K (wifes)
2003 Ford F250 V10 135K (Mine)

Any one have any other info or using Mag 1 either conventional or their synthetic?

Many stores' house brands are rebottled Mag 1 and made by WPP. Walmart Supertech is WPP in some regions.

My only experience is with their ATF, which is fantastic.

WPP oils are of good quality for the money. It should serve you well given a decent OCI.

My favorite Farm store oil that goes on sale is Trop Artic. Orsheln farm stores have a sale a few times a year where they sell it for $1.99 a qt.

Like right now.

My local Sam's Club has it (5w-20,10w-30 Synthetic Blend) for pickup at the regular price of $26.18 for 12 or $2.18 a qt.

They don't make ALL of it.

Know your bottle shapes.

Getting it from the farm store is cheaper than the $12.xx WM wants anyway.

We'd have to find the PQIA info, but I think Mag1 is a higher end product than Super Tech and the store brand equivalents that WPP also makes. It is there top "brand" name.

Mag 1 is actually WPP's flagship product, so it would be a step up from what they blend for Supertech. Use it with confidence.

The product that WPP makes that would be comparable to Supertech is their Accel line of oils.

Welcome!

I have used Mag 1 oils before, both conventional and synthetic. Mag 1 is indeed WPP's flagship brand. Thus, no, it is not the same as SuperTech.

I think the wpp supertech synthetic 5w20,30 is or is something pretty close to mag 1 or supertech couldn't have a wpp dexos msds for for it. The msds has to appropriately identify the product.

Thanks. For the welcome Triton

Here's one of mag1s full synthetic dexos msds. They have several full synthetic msds's and semi syn ones. Only the ones to dexos specs say dexos on the msds. They would have a possibility of a legal matter if not. So I think the 2 for mentioned supertech products are most likely the same as wpp flagship product. Otherwise those supertech msds would just say st full syn.

are you assuming there is only one formula that can be DEXOS certified? Otherwise, nothing you are saying makes any sense.

No just that I cant see why wpp would bother are probably about equal quality or mist be.
