Used the kids 222,700 mile 3/4 ton Duramax. Thing was flawless. It is different than the gasser. My gasser is 360hp and 380ft/lbs of torque. I had it turned so maybe picked up 20hp and 30ft/ lbs of torque. That is the average. The Duramax is 300hp and 500ft/lbs of torque. They pull about the same. The two big differences were mpg between the two and how often they shift. The Duramax really is nice on the hills. My truck has 4.10s the Duramax has 3.73s. I will say the brakes on my 17 are a huge improvement over the 03. I hope they can fix my truck, but if not maybe I will find a nice clean 100,000 to 130,000 mile Duramax. I only put about 4000 miles a year on the truck. Certainty was nice being able to get home with very little drama. Now I just wait on the body shop.

'03...223K on the odo.....You know how to care for a vehicle.
Do owners of camper trailers like yours ever go dually rears?
I see less and less. I see alot of single rear wheel 1 tons like my 17.
We picked up the Duramax with 217,000 on it. 2 owners. First owned it to 200,000 second to 217,000 and he bought a new one. Second owner had it for 6 years. It had all maintenance records. Truck also has airbags. It really is a good machine.

Glad you and your trailer are back. Good to have a contingency plan for the unexpected un-planned.

Man do I love the old GMT800. Probably my ideal diesel would be a crew-cab leather LT3 trimmed Silverado with an LBZ. I also think some came in dark grey/charcoal interior color? maybe? 🤤

Would also love a well optioned Dura-burb.
