This filter came off of a Mazda 3 2.0L with 112K and was run for 10K.

ADBV was super flexible... pleats were a little wavy but overall I'm happy with it.

After comparing with your DW filter, I don't see why I'd spend the extra money on the M1 filter for my 6k/6mo OCIs.

Looks good! Excellent filter for long OCI's (10K+). I've used them before.

Since my OCI's are between 6.5K to 7.5K....I believe the Purolator PureOne is sufficient for my filtering needs....and I usually can get them for about $3.75 +/- (after rebate).

I forgot to mention in the original post that the oil was QSUD 5W20.

I agree with you about the filters... I just happened to have a few M1 filters still in my stock of filters. I have no M1-102 filters left... just some PureOne's and after that I have driveworks filters.

I pretty much just go with the cheapest filters possible when running non-synthetic oil, it's just that I had no other filters for the blazer (it used to be mine, now it's the in-law's and I do the upkeep on it.)

I use the same filter in my 98 Toyota Camry V6. I was going to cut one of mine open but now won't have too. Thanks OP.

I figured that there would be more filter media since the filter is rather big. Glad to see plenty of heavy duty looking metal end caps.

not at all..i just have seen so many paper media's come apart and gets into the engines..and most people don't even know it!!media starts out widening and tearing at the seams and some pleats narrows causing plugging...i learned a lesson long long time ago that the public is being scammed by paper filters for oil filtration...no matter what brand..happens in alot of fords which have a killer oil pump!!tons of flow..

It's a used oil filter... The last time it looked pretty was when it came out of the box new. Besides, I ran out of paper towels and just wanted to get the process over with!

Is there a link to a chart that shows other M1 filters interchangeability ?

With metal filters you run the risk of higher wear metals in your engine due to the making of the metal filter!!!! Just kidding...

Do you have pictures or proof of these filters causing harm to engines because they tear off? I think your way over exaggerating this "problem"

Im guessing he's got a vested interest in metal filters...

Fram are the filters I worry about coming apart... Not an m1 filter!

any idea why the new M-1 filters have louvered type internal holes instead of the previous versions circular cut outs?
I noticed this recently, and put the 3 M-1 filters back on the shelf. Went to look at the last one I had left in the garage, and they were perfect circle cut outs

Probably easier to manufacture that way.
