This is an analysis of M1 0w-30 that has been in my mothers 1997 Plymouth breeze (2.0L 4cyl) over the winter. I have a previous sample from last spring, which was m1 5w-30 and 0-30 in a 50/50 mix, I believe.
Every workday my mother drives this car 5 blocks 5 times. It is pretty severe serice, but M1 seems to be a good fit, so the wear rates dont indicate any problems, probably because the synth oil flows well enough at startup. In the interrim between these two samples, M1 5w-30 was used at an interval of about 5000 miles. The latest sample was in about 6 months.

FYI, I am almost 100% sure that the last oil change I put in a FRAM air filter... I thought they were OK, but SI values are pretty high. I might have that filter swapped.

Definitely... Better still, my father changed to 10w-30 M1 from standard dino last change (~14k ago) in his 94 toyota previa with 165K miles on it. Runs GREAT, and he has been averaging 26-27 MPG lately, as opposed to 22 in the summer, 19 in the winter. Nothing has changed at all, except the type of oil!

Anyone that says M1 is a bad oil must have a weird engine...
