This is for my 07 Civic (R18) coming up on 60k miles. It's a work commute car with about 70hwy/30city. Getting to 10k will probably take about 13 months.

I'm about to do my usual OC with 4,200mi. on this oil, but it still looks REALLY GOOD. Barely any dark color to it. This is my first time using a P1 filter; always used OEM since brand new and it was always really black at 5k miles with the OEM filter. I've also always used M1 since new, but 0w-20 the last 2 OC's. I'm wanting to change it early this time since we're selling our home and I'd like to remove my car equipment from the carport.

Anyway, do you think this combination can easily go 10k? If there's ANY question about it, I'll go ahead and do it now. Cost isn't part of the equation when it comes to engine protection and peace of mind for me. Already got another P1 filter and jug of oil waiting... I don't want to do it at 7-8k since I have 5k interval OCD

Thanks for any info!

Edit: Hats off to Purolator. Seems like a wonderful filter.

I've been doing 8-9k miles on the Fit with M1 0w-20. UOA's show it can go 10k miles no problem. That's with mostly highway driving. It got moved to more of a short tripper, so it's getting its oil changed every 6-7k miles now.

If my mother-in-law's 2002 Civic can get a UOA like the one I just posted here with Service Pro 5W-20 Synthetic Blend and a Bosch Premium filter after 5100 miles, then I bet your 2007 will be just fine for twice that with the better oil and filter.

If it takes you 13 months to get drive 10k miles, you're better off doing 1 year OCI at around 9k miles. It's easier to remember the month you do OC than the mileage.

In my Duratechs 10K is no problem with M1 0-20. At presant I am using MC filters and my engines look clean as new through the oil fill hole.
