I use it every oil change, I have never done a UOA with it or without it so I can't say if there is a change there. I use it because I don't always use the same oil and my car takes 4.3 quarts. So instead of having 2/3 full bottle of one kind of oil sitting around, I buy one quart of it is and lasts me for 3 oil changes.

When I look at that stuff clinging to those gears In the Auto parts store display, I just can't believe I'd want that in my oil. Maybe as a gear grease, but not in my oil. by the way, I'm one of the nutty people that uses Quaker Slick 50 oil.

My Dodge holds six quarts of oil. I put in the full six and a larger size filter and added about 3/4 of a bottle of Lucas. I was interested to try it because it says it eliminates dry starts.

Never used it, I figure that the today's oil does not need any help...

I might consider it in a "beater", but not in a newer car.

It's a crutch.....use better oil. You would not buy sewer water and add something to make it drinkable would you?

So why buy crummier oil and add something to make it better. Don't believe all the marketing. What prevents dry starts is usually not related to oil.

+1 to what oilboy said.

No, Given the ILSAC GF-4/API SM oil these days, I personally don't care about additives no more (except autoRx for composed of esters).

The OP was not talking about the stuff in the auto store displays, that is the petroleum heavy duty stabilizer
