I pull a 24' deck over with two 7k axles. We haul dog food on it and it's easy to overload as each pallet is around 1k lbs, and you can fit 12 to 14 pallets on the deck, but the trailer is allegedly 4k itself (might be more, never actually weighed it).
The limiting factor, though, is the tires. It's difficult to make anything live on single 16" wheels if near capacity. Again, not really concerned with what the sidewalls claim -- I'm more interested in reality and we've had mixed results with LTs and higher range STs
