Long term Storage of Gasoline and Diesel

What are the best ways for ensure usable fuel for the longest period of time after storage? Products? Techniques? Conditions and so on

Depends on the duration of storage.

Diesel doesn't go bad unless there is stuff growing in it. 2 years or 20 years old, no issues. Gasoline in a modern fuel injected engine with a well sealed fuel system can last 5 to 10 years. That's from personal experience with numerous cars in storage.

Someone on here used old gas stored in a sealed wavian can. I searched for it but can't find right now - maybe someone remembers. I think it was like 5 years old.

Either way, start with ethanol free gas.

Diesel stores much longer - again if properly sealed.

Buy unbranded non Top Tier 90 w/o E for the small engines . Stores well . Yesterday started the 24 year old snow blower on 2nd pull . The gas is close to a year old .

Where is it being stored? I think you should use something like Stabil if you are storing it long periods.
