a lot of good info for sure. just reading some of it says to me the wonderful fake synthetics of today may not be as good as they want us to believe! good enough mostly but much less than a real synthesised lubricant
 
Thanks for the link, page 33-37 has the best explanation of ATF formula I've ever seen, especially the friction modifier and paper steel clutch pack.

Evonik has become an expert in "functionalized" PAMA's.

However, the explanation of the clutch materials is somewhat simplistic. They make it sound like the clutch face material is paper.

It is not. It is a mixture of cellulose with synthetic fibers materials in a binder, so it it properly called a "composite" material.

I think LNG's articles are targeted mostly for managers.
