LML Duramax charging at 15.3 volts

The Everstart Platinum batteries kicked the bucket today. Installed on 11/8/2019 and died on 9/15/2022. They’ve been on the truck for 3,160 engine hours and 35,564 miles (83,999 miles and 6,502.6 engine hours on the truck). The truck was turned off today to use the keys to open the garage door. When the key was turned back on just a few minutes later the truck was completely dead. No dash lights or cabin lights, I checked the battery voltage with the door open on the truck, 4.8v at the battery. The old batteries had a resting voltage of 12.9 and 12.7 volts when at rest and out of the truck, both tested bad. Walmart had the batteries in stock and warrantied them out for me. The old batteries were $149.76 each and the new ones today were $169.84 each. They exchanged them and gave me credit for the old batteries, I walked out of there with 2 new batteries for $42.57. The charging system appears to be working correctly. They started charging at 14.7 volts when the truck first started and settled down to 14.4 over the next few minutes.

The old batteries had a 5 year free replacement warranty, the new ones are 4 year free replacement. The new ones have a “Made in Germany” sticker on them.

I think that worked out very well for you. Seems like AGM tech isn’t providing anything special here, at 3 years of life. ??
