I bought my '71 in San Jose, CA from a postal delivery woman. Darrell Sue Bxxxxxxx. I'll always remember her name. She was a cute little thing. She had a Corvette previously, which was stolen IIRC. She bought the TR as a replacement but ended up not liking it. I bought is just out of warranty. It had just over 12K miles on it. To you young folks, warranties on many cars back then were just 12 months/12,000 miles. I proposed to my wife in that car. It served me very well.
I sold it to my best friend when it had 156K miles on it, back in 1985 (I sold both the TR and my BJ7 Healey for a V12 E-Type - big mistake). My TR was one of the most reliable cars I ever owned. I never had any problems with it. My best friend still has it although it no longer runs because it's sat in the garage under a cover for 20+ years. It looks just like the day I sold it to him. It has flawless original paint and a 95% interior. He's offered to sell it back to me for what I sold it to him for - $6500 - but I have four cars already, and only a 3 car garage. I feel bad enough leaving our Honda Element outside.
The TR6 was a great machine. There have been several for sale recently on Bring A Trailer. Prices seem very reasonable to me.

Yes, Magenta. Not my first choice, but it was a ~34K mile one owner, completely un "improved" car when I found it, that was also built within weeks if not days of my first car.
Don't let your TR go... Easier to find space than that car, esp at that price.
The TR market is funny, lots of good drivers at reasonable prices, but silly money for the top cars.
