Rebuilding a 4L60E w/ details in another thread here, but:

Ordered a new Thrust Washer kit from MaxIndustries via ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/254261995865. Shows part number 42270, Interchange p/n 74200.

Description: TH700R4 4L60E 4L65E GM TRANSMISSION WASHER KIT fits all transmissions 1982-03

All New 8Piece kit includes:
(1) Reverse Input Drum to Stator (Plastic)
(1) Reaction Sun Shell (Front) Metal
(1) Reaction Carrier to Race (Plastic)
(1) Reaction Sun Shell (Rear) 4-tabs Plastic
(1) Input drum selective 2.38-2.48mm (#70)
(1) Input drum selective 2.55-2.65mm (#71)
(1) Input drum selective 2.72-2.82mm (#72)

We did not use the "Reaction Sun Shell (Rear) 4-tabs Plastic" washer, as per the Sonnax SmartShell instructions which replaces it with a roller bearing.

But we did end up with this leftover oversized black plastic thrust washer with 2 pins - looks like an oversized "Reverse Input Drum to Stator" washer.

And for the life of me, can't figure out where we would have used it - didn't take anything like it out, and it doesn't show in the 4L60E book.

Please tell me it's for a 700R4 or some such, so I can stop worrying about it!

Hopefully you stopped before installing in the vehicle! Haha

Paging @clinebarger ! Hopefully he'll know one way or the other. A transmission is definitely not a rebuild project that I'd feel great having questionable leftover parts for, I totally feel your unease! Hope he gives the all clear!
