Look how they vilified Jim Thome when he left - then welcomed him back with open arms. I suspect they'll do the same with Lebron.

Like Michael Jordan, LBJ wants to expand his role beyond "player"...to establish himself as a leader and perhaps an executive later...he saw in Miami how that's done where ALL the support staff, except the coach, are former players with Riley...

Good luck to him...it's a lot harder to do that than to benefit from it.

LeBron Jones needs to win a championship in Cleveland. Other wise, he's just another Cleveland athlete with a lot of hope.

And please, don't ever compare LBJ to Jordan. Jordan was 6-0 in the finals and LBJ has a losing record.

Invalid argument and cannot be compared. Two completely different types of players. Lebron is a beast, but I would rather have '90's Jordan on my team any day over him.

Pat Riley's stupid comments were the last straw in Lebron's decision to leave Miami. He's an idiot.

What did Riley say?

Next season is the only prayer that any other team has of winning a title. After next season with Kyrie and rest of the young guys getting better, it's all Cavs for a while.

I think it will take more than one season.

I know that everybody loves sports, but honestly these players are larger than life.

People are starving in Cleveland, and Lebron gets 20 million dollars per season, plus endorsements, and can live in his mansion in Ohio.

It's just nonsense, all to play a game.

I was listening to ESPN radio. They were talking to some people from Miami. The comments were priceless. They called Lebron Classless, disloyal, and a backstabber. Sweet irony.

He is worth the $$$$ cause of the fans buying tickets , TV networks, kids wanting his sneakers / jerseys,... etc, etc....

I'm glad he is a positive role model and not some idiot like Iverson , Rodman or Sprewell.

This is really a short sighted view. You will see in 2 years. There are hundreds of jobs that will be created just because James plays basketball. James has already started paying Cleveland back to the tune of 12,000 season tickets sold in 8 hours.

Catering food, entertainment, lodging, and goods for additional 12,000 people for a min of 41 nights a year is some serious money. Really the whole social economics movement and mindset is old and quite frankly dumb. Lebron James is making 20 million a year playing basketball. Millions upon millions more in endorsements. That is the fault of people that are buying King James merchandise and paying to watch his basketball games.

Factor in the millions that James has donated to organizations such as the boys and girls clubs and the jobs he personally created for his friends and family the millions upon millions he is paid is just not sitting on in slush fund somewhere.

Lebron James is freak of nature that is physically blessed by the creator with gifts that only 2 or 3 people out 7 billion have. James makes a handsome living because of this. My answer is. So what! This is Lebron James's right and he is cashing in. Good for him! I know if I was that blessed I would try to squeeze every cent out of this situation that I could and I would not be a generous as he is about it.

Also you can add the fact I am not a Lebron James fan in anyway and I feel his basketball skill and intelligence is rudimentary at best and he has gathered his fame and aura on his unique physical gifts and not much else.

In other news, the Browns latest mascot:

Huge old bridge comes down:

Cleveland picked to host 2016 RNC:

Yes, glad he's BACK! Cavs can be relevant again and fun to watch.

Also a contender for the 2016 DNC as well which is down to six cities:

This must be good news for Cleveland.

That bad news is Johnny Manziel will lead the Browns to a top 5 draft pick in the 2016 NFL draft while embarrassing himself and the Browns nation in the process. The tree stooges in charge of the Browns nuk nuk nuk themselves with I do not know shoulders causing riots and another franchise move. This time to L.A. and the team will be renamed to the Thespians.

I find it funny in the story Jimmy Haslam believes anyone is the problem other than him. Then again this is Jimmy Haslam we are talking about.
