I recently put about 1 qt of LC20 in my grand cherokee. Main oil has about 1k miles on it 10/30 maxlife.
Should I be concerned as far as how much LC20 is in there as I now know its 1 oz per qt of oil.
Should I just leave it go or change it out?

Well they do say 2 oz/qt for the first usage, but you're probably well over that. I seem to recall Terry Dyson saying something about LC being OK in large doses, maybe even up to 1/4 of the total fill. Don't quote me on that though. I'd email LCD.

LC20 does have some ZDDP in it but I would change it out, since the solvent levels would be way high.

Should be a clean engine.

I just hate to waste it and good oil yet. If its best to change it out so be it. I will try and email LCD and see what they say. Keep the responses coming!

Drain it, strain it through a coffee filter in a funnel and keep it in an empty 5qt oil container.

I would use 1 quart of the mix every OCI for the next 5 OCI's. That will dilute it some and keep things very clean.

LC20 displays the the same safety level, the product is as safe as motor oil, even elevated doses that no one would use. I am convinced you could run LC20 at 50% and not increase wear.

YMMV; I used about 16 oz in a 6qt F150 sump with M1 5W-40 TDT and it was as smooth as glass.

I have used it at 30% levels in PCMO with NO problems. Its vis shearing capability is over blown here. We have found it actually stabilizes the design vis of the oil it is added to.

Again, YMMV

Cool
I will let it go until I hear back from LCD. If Terry says its ok then I see no problem. Thanks for all the replys!

I might do that good Idea!

I very seriously doubt you will harm nor have any effect on anything within your engine...

You engine will be well lubricated and get a good cleaning cycle...

I myself would run it for 3k miles then change oil...

I would contact Jeff and see what he says...

You're not going to harm your engine with it, seriously.

Lots of fiolks run a ful quart of MMO in a fill, and it has less anti-wear stuff in it than LC-20.

Go for whatever your full OCI would be. Don't waste it....we waste SO much oil on this site, worrying about things that 99% of the population doesn't even think about!

LC20 overdose? So what is the LD50 of LC20?

Just wanted to up date
I was noticing some small carbon pieces on my dip stick checking the oil and noticed the oil pressure gauge was reading higher than normal one day hot and cold engine temp. Fearing the filter is getting full I dumped it after about 1200 miles with the filter. Oil wasnt black but a dark brown and got dirty fast.
Oil pressure is now back to normal using the same weight.

Interesting, increase oil pressure reading 'higher' in a scenario that on a worn out car might trigger a 'low pressure' event(suspected clogged filter)...

I would have liked to have seen the removed filter cut open.
