Laser printer, good ones still exist

I have used a Brother laser jet for several years now. No problems and I use off brand cartridges and they last forever. Sure beats buying expensive ink jet cartridges several times a year.

Brother laser all in one is what my family has used for last 10 years. Beyond happy. $99 and maybe $20 laser toner a year.

What about Linux compatibility? My Epson inkjet is still chugging along but Epsons use of "Chip counters" is infuriating. They supposedly pulled out of the laserjet printer market a couple of years back. Not sure why.

They said environmental reasons but IMO it's easier to sell and market inkjets over laser. It seems like they're absent in the enterprise market too, no manage print services carry Epson. Canon, HP, and Konica seem to own that market.
