I have a Kohler 17.5hp and it calls for a oil filter #52. Is there another oil filter that I can use?

Her's some choices. If I recall the 17.5 Hp has a boos near the filter, so the biggest you can go is the 3.4in length.

I use the same Kohler filter, usually about $10.50. There is a 'NAPA Gold' sold at NAPA for about the same price. I don't have the number here but they can reference for you. I'd like to find a less expensive one myself.

I have been using the ST3600 for about three years now and i like the added capacity. No problems as of yet.

I've been using Puro L10241s on my 15hp Courage (Gravely ZT) for the past couple of years. Based on the lengths motorcity listed, I can see where the longer filters could be a problem. The 10241 fits with room for rags underneath (keep spillage off the transmissions) along with space to work a socket wrench cap for removal.

Yep. I've used the ST3600 on my Kohler Command 20. In fact, I think that's what's on there right now. There's no reason to use Kohler oil filters.
