Yikes, that sounds expensive. Did she give you a price? I'd hold off on tires which should bring the bill down quite a bit. Then when you need them get a deal during a promotion.

Do a pan drop and change the fluid again. I would also do a few dipstick fluid extractions or pull a line off the transmission cooler and do a line off fluid exchange. When you're done add the LG red.

Yes. With the tires, Hankooks, it is $2500 + tax. Just the ball joints are $7xx + tax. I am going to hold off on the tires until they need it. The steering gear was in the 7-800 dollar range too. I'm thinking of the ball joints, and an alignment for $70.

Jeeps and bad ball joints go together like peas and carrots. Find an offroad shop and have them put in HD rebuildable ball joints. The OEM ones are terrible, even in stock form. If your lifted or have bigger tires the useful life is even shorter. New ball joints and re-torque all control arms and track bars will most likely fix it for you.

Good idea, then see if that helps things. If not you can always have some of the other things on the list done in 6-12 mos. Break up the big bill a little bit. $800 is much better than $2500.

check ball joints ... they can cause a shutter/vibe --if they're worn get the more expensive ones like the moog problem solvers that have grease fittings... daughter's ram was vibrating and shuttering only with throttle

Sorry to hear of your plight.
Bad QC from the Pentastar. And that lady service writer....just doing her job--applying rotational force to you and your family. Kira
