Jared Fogle prison sentencing this Thursday

It's surprising to me that anyone would really care. He was nothing more than a hack for a fast food outfit-pretty much as low and unskilled as it gets. Yet the media (and a few folks here) seem to think it's actually important, and mindlessly follow the follies of this low life as if anything he does really matters.

I have a feeling the same folks who are enamored with this hack also follow garbage reality television, drooling over the childish antics of the people who parade themselves about on reality television.

You don't think that it's a bit hypocritical that you seem to be "enamored with....and follow garbage" local Iowa TV news station KCCI and regularly post useless comments about the "childish antics of the people who parade themselves about"????? You repeatedly tell us you hate everything associated with television and that it is time poorly spent.

Nobody cares, and yet we are all here. Then again, mosty people also stare at trainwrecks.
 
So Jared got 15 years, 8 months.

As for Pop - the expression "The (Pops) doth protest too much, methinks" applies. He spends an inordinate amount of time making comments like this on subjects he proclaims not to care about. He pretends he's above it all and yet he cannot help himself from reading the threads and telling everyone how much he doesn't care. He is either BITOGs greatest troll or just an old curmudgeon with a comical lack of self-awareness. My votes on the latter.

I do agree with some of Pop's comments...but I think you make a valid point.

No one was! Some were waiting to reserve judgement until all the facts were released. Once they were, it was obvious the guy was a creep.

My take on this is, and maybe I remember it wrong, it was more those with a quick rope versus those who were asking for due process. Innocent until proven guilty versus guilty until proven innocent.

I didn't say it was a fact...just my impression. I think one or two of those posts were actually removed after some forethought.
I understand all about due process. and reserving judgement.
 
15.6 in prison. He may get out in 2029 at age 51. Now he, or rather his lawyer, blames his, Vogel's, not the lawyer's "mild pedophilia" on his eating disorder and weight loss. In other words, eating fresh and losing weight made him a pedo!

I think it was because of global warming.
 
This federal judge sounds like a "look at me" type, handing down a sentence that reportedly is 20 months more than the top of the sentencing guideline range. That almost NEVER happens in a case where there's a plea agreement.

Fogle is indeed a dirtball who has ruined many children's lives, but as someone with 27 years experience in federal court, I think the judge was out of order.
 
It's good to see him receive 15 years. However, having worked in corrections for a long time, jails and prison, are not always what people think. The amount of sex offenders incarcerated is huge and they are not always necessary targeted. However, because of the publicity, Mr Fogle may have a hard time.
