I've got a few greases. Which one for brake work?

Just looking for opinions on the greases I've got rolling around the garage for some brake/hub work I'm doing. I'll be using the grease for caliper slide pins, and as lube for around a new ABS sensor mounted into the hub close to a tone/exciter ring:

-Mystic JT-6 #2 multi-purpose(green tube)
-Mystic JT-6 #2 hi-temp(red tube)
-Super Lube

If anyone thinks none of these is really appropriate please give me a suggestion.

I would get something for disc brakes. Sly-glide (or something with a name close to this spelling) at NAPA (. Its only a couple of dollars for a tube that will last for many years if you are a shade tree mechanic.

The hi-temp grease might be OK, look at the write-up for it. If it says disc brakes, you are good to go.

High temp disc brake grease is designated that way to show it is fit for wheel bearings in disc brake cars.
I'd use the high temp red, since you own it.
Maybe check a slider pin in 6 months.

The high temp red does list disk brakes as an acceptable application. I'll toss it around for a little bit. NAPA is open till 5:00 if I decide to go with the syl-glide, but I've got to get this work done later tonight. Thanks for the quick replies.

none of your mentioned petrolium-based grease will work in your brake glide/slide pin mechanisms w/o causing deterioration to the rubber moisture/dust boots, and seals.

You shall consider getting some synthetic grase made specifically for the job (i.e. Syl-glide from AGM industries(sometimes repackaged as NAPA syl-glide), permatex, etc.)

Yeah, I know there shall be some drive-by folks that will come along telling you that "....baaah-humbug! I've been using ordinary bearing grease on brake rubber/slider components for eons and not a single failure...." or something like that but consider this:

Proper operational braking systems will keep you or your love ones on the road safely. any failures/seizures on the braking system will lead to severe injuries or even deaths. So, bottomline is, the choice is yours.

Q. (been using AGM Sylglide for over 2+ decades on brakes, with million miles + satisfied customers and working brakes so far)

I think your selections are fine but for the caliper pins along the lines of what Quest said I would want a dedicated caliper pin grease that is rubber safe. I think the Superlube would work if it is their silicone based, but if not it probably is not very compatible with the rubber boots.

Sylgide or Permatex silicone brake lube (can't remember which color it is) should be good choice for brake pin grease.

Use Super-Lube

Whatever came along within the caliper guide pin/boots itself as far as grease's cocerned should be compatible with syl-glide.

I mixed mine with Mazda, Honda, Toy, Nissan, Subaru, Daihatsu, etc. never a problem at all (they are indeed compatible).

Those greases are not an automatic death sentence to seals.
Consider that they are not harmful to normal seals in tapered roller bearing situations.
Why OK in one and not the other??
But any grease MAY attack and swell any rubber. I have used dedicated brake greases and have had swelling.
Being enclosed, the grease should perform great.
