Just got the response that there shouldn't be a lot of water left and it won't make a difference. Maybe they are correct but I can't do that.
I don't agree with what Valvoline told you. If you do distilled water d&f's till clear then just add 50/50 premix to the fill radiator one time, because of the water left in the block you will not have 50% concentration of AF. I had to do it on a Civic years ago when the Honda stealer used original green with a head gasket job.
If you want to use premix, you would have to do more d&fs after running the premix through the system. Also you'll need to test the concentration confirm. The inexpensive Chaslyn 5 ball AF tester works fine, and the process was covered in
this post. That's also why PB OEM Brand Concentrate is far preferable, especially with a system flush.
I should have added the qualifications 'generally speaking' and 'readily available' to the premix only statement. Honda does make a Type 2 concentrate called Honda Extreme. However, it only comes in
quarts and list price is $9.51/qt. Bernardi Parts will sell it for $7.42/qt (whoopty doo) but that doesn't include the shipping costs. Most likely the dealer is going to have to order it and ask list price which is absurd. Would still be less expensive to use a premix AF like ZAF or the topic AF and run it through with several d&fs.
