STs & Ecores give me ED.

15k on one filter?my paranoia or assembly line ocd would never allow it.I'm not being an elitist, but my lack of faith with proper engineering vs. cost cutting prohibits me from reaching this level of mental freedom.

From my research on this site. The oil filter section is very informative and can lead you to draw your own conclusion.

I have found you gain longevity but you lose effiency. Thus I conclude 10K max on a p1 or bosch. I have seen some go 15 on it though.

Don't forget your going to need to sample before getting to 15k also.

The Bosch Distance Plus is supposed to be a long OCI filter. Royal Purple and Amsoil filters are also advertised as long OCI. Go to their websites for more info. I'd think one of those would be what you're looking for.

Well, Ford UK recommends 12 month 12,500 mile OCIs as standard on all new Fords in England. I don't know what oil and filter they are using as standard. A lot of the Fords sold over there are the same as the Fords sold here. In Europe they've been extending drains for years. I'd say a lot depends on the car. For example, if your mfg. says a standard OCI is 7500, I would think 15K is perfectly possible using a full synthetic oil and a quality filter like a PureOne, Bosch Distance, or a Fram Extended Guard. It also depends on your use. Long runs and easy driving help to extend your OCI.

Sure ..IF.. It has to be in a given time span as a daily driver ..either that or someone who crosses the nation non-stop for 5 passes. They might manage much more with one warm up per 600+/- miles.
