Is there is specific tool to loosen this radiator drain plug?

But then the thermostat closes and an hour long coolant flush takes 5 hours. A sane person has the correct tools to do the job.

Then buy a vacuum lift, like this:

Drain when cold. Don't burn yourself.

Vacuum and refill.

No air pockets or bubbles.

Simple. Easy.

I do have a vacuum lift but that is only for filling. Draining when cold only works the first time. I drain and refill with water, drive a few miles to circulate the water, then repeat 4 or 5 times until the water that comes out is clear.

There are 3 for $3.61 each at RockAuto. I'd treat it as a one-use item at that price.
(I spent almost an hour thinking of an alternative.)
