Is there a Motorcraft filter for Honda???

Will either of these units work on my 2005 CR-V? I too would rather use a motorcraft than a "blue Fram" from Honda. The stock filters are pretty small. My idea would be to run M1 synthetic for 10,000 miles, but change out the filters every 5,000. (I figure I'm "safe" doing this as Honda recommends 10,000 between oil changes with just dino oil) Does anyone see a problem with this maintenance plan?
Thank you.
Glen

I couldn't get the Wix site up to compare gasket sizes ..but it appears that both the fl810 and the fl2007 work. The cans are slightly different ..with (I think) size going to the FL2007 due to length, albeit at a slightly smaller diameter (I didn't do the math).

PL14610 is the number the Pureoil.com site puked out. It appears to be the longer of the two when both MC's are put in the xref utility (if I didn't screw it up).

Relief Valve P.S.I.: 14-18
Height: 3.52
Threads: M20-1.5

Anti-Drain Back Valve: Yes
Type of Filter: Spin-on
O.D.: 2.69

Baldwin makes a 4 incher in this size ..but most of the other xref's default to the mid sized filter.

If you're using M1 and doing your 10k over a short enough time (I'm speaking generically - not Honda specific) then you shouldn't need to change the filter ..especially something like a PureOne, IMHO.

If I were you, I'd just go with a Purolator because when I took a look at the Fl-810 it looked almost identical as the 14459 including the dome end bypass. And like I said before that the Fl-2007 is hard to find, but I would assume it's the Purolator 14610.

I've used a Motorcraft FL810 on my Honda before. It is identical in size to the 14459 Purolator. I still have the used filter, but I haven't cut it open yet. I'm curious about the filter element inside, because some Motorcraft filters (the FL1A, for example) use a PureOne element inside, even though it looks like a Premium Plus from the outside. I'll try to cut it open this weekend and post pics if I can get to it.

Another option than the Honda-Fram filter is the Honda-Filtech one. It's a good filter, and you can get 'em cheap if you check around. A dealer by me sells them for 3.99 each if you buy 4 and they include the Honda crush washer which tecnically should be replaced each oil change. If you have a Honda that really isn't a bad way to go. Motorcraft is good but something about putting a FORD part on my Honda gives me the willies!

I bought an FL810 today at Advance Auto, but did not make it out of the store. I traded it for a few Total Grips.

i just purchased 4 advance auto brand filters for my honda. the case is thinner and has a smaller diameter, dunno about the rest.

seems as though purolator is selling advance auto their old design?

We use the Honda OEM PCX-004 filter on our 02 Accord V6. Made in Japan by Toyo Roki. Specced for the S2000. Costs about $2 more, but we run 7,000 mile intervals +/-, like having a top-end filter.

MyGrayRanger- I believe all Hondas have identical oil filter mounts. That was standardized some years back. All Honda filters fit all vehicles. I ran the new smaller filter with no problems on our Accord, but switched to the slightly larger but better regarded PCX-004 filter. That will fit your 1.6 I 4 engine. To me it's worth a little more.
