I have a friend who says the new mobil one is group 3 and not a 100% synthetic kinda like the Castrol Syntec. I say it is a group4 and is 100$ synthetic. What is the truth.

I thought it was group 4 but I didnt know when they"changed" there formula if they changed the grouping of the oil.
I am a huge M1 guy, its all I use. He was stating how he thinks Shell Rottela Syhthetic is the only 100% synthetic on the market.

Shell Rotella T 5W-40 is a Group III oil. Sounds like your friend has the two products confused.
Mobil 1 is in the first class group hahaha.
