It looks like we'll have boots on the ground in Venezuela in <2 weeks IMHO.
Not an full on invasion but from what I am reading, Special Forces (probably already there)/Marines/Air Raids etc. There are naval forces in the area with more to come.
If news hits that Maduro was deposed, and especially if he is in our custody, Ai thinks that the following stocks are set to rise:
Chevron (CVX)
Exxon (XOM)
ConocoPhillips (COP)
and
AeroVironment (AVAV) - Drone specialist, smaller market cap means more volatile price swings
Kratos Defense (KTOS) - Unmanned systems and tactical UAVs
L3Harris (LHX)

the three oil companies all lost holdings in Venezuela 20 years ago. Chevron still maintains some, somehow but its on again off again on whether sanctions allow them to use it. If you wanted to trade it I suppose those 3 would be as good as any. However at $62 oil I consider them all to be quite over-valued - I suppose what isn't currently?
But its definitely a trade not an investment because Venezuelan fields are completely trashed. Will take years and billons to bring them up to what they were. I don't see anyone investing in that again, at $62 oil?
Defense plays are compelling - especially any with exposure to Europe since they will be spending also. The problem of course is its completely dependent on who gets the contract.
