Well the next wave of price increases has hit. I went to check in on how much more I was going to have to pay for my Saber and saw that the 1.5 oz packets were still below a buck. That seemed odd so I moved the bar to display the case cost and saw that the new saber cases only come with 47 1.5oz packets vs. the previous 48 (LOL)! Someone decided to put a little more air in the potato chip bag, but us consumers are pretty observant. Hopefully they don't start downsizing the quarts.

Update... yet another interesting technique. Saber outboard is now priced as an 11 quart case. Wow I really hope this isn't some marketing study on two SKU's aimed to gauge how much us rats will still press the bar while there are confusing pricing adjustments. These guys must have hired someone from Dannon to preserve margin. They were great at dropping the size of my 8oz serving of yogurt a couple of years back :-)! In the end it's always about price/ounce or price/gallon with these precious fluids.

Yea, search my thread on Hidden Inflation on the G&OT forum. Half gallons of Ice Cream went down to 1.75 quarts, NOW down to 1.5 quarts...!

This type of game is totally ridiculous and reminds me of corporate types (sorry if this is you) sitting around the board table drinking 4 dollar a cup coffee trying to think of way's to cut costs. When this type of thinking enters a corporate way of thinking....duck and cover consumers.

I wonder how they package the 11 quart cases with the odd number? They must be stuffing a filler in the place for the 12th qt. Man what will they come up with next!??

what gets me going on them (amsoil) is you order a packet, one, and then order a qt of oil the shipping is the same..Why is that i wonder.

Well Dargo I guess it takes a hand to "handle" the items regardless of size so you are charged for the handling by the handful
LOL.gif
. Seriously though even though their shipping rates are pretty stellar on large orders the mandatory minimum is a little much especially when I get charged >$6 to get sent (via USPS non-priority mail) a printed gear oil study. Next week I'll order up the 11 quart case to see what's up. I guess they must be making the poor folks at the DC's rework all those cases of existing inventory, "Hey Joe, go unstack that pallet of Saber packets and pull out 1 packet from every box then retape them....What don't ask me why boy!?!?! Just get over there and do it!" Joe's applied overhead to remove 1 packet of saber (or quart from each 12 quart case) is probably more costly than just shipping flow through inventory. Gotta love them smart folk in management positions sometimes.

Hey...lets make an 8 oz steak a 6 oz and charge the same price...tellem that the beef is raised without antibiotics or hormones....

Hey...lets make an 40lb dog food sack a 37lb sack charge the same price and tellem the corn is a special hybrid type...

LOL

No frustration, but no need to get Large Car Man all spun up again (It doesn't take much). It's a typo. Not sure why the web guys haven't got to it yet.........has anyone else told them?

It doesn't even make sense. So please keep a level head.

Man I know I was getting pretty wound up on this one because I saw the same thing happen with so many other consumer products. Hopefully prices can stabilize for a while.
