Inflated Trade-In Value a Scam?

Dude, figure it out. Your a prime candidate to call into the dealer. You bought once and so they know your vulnerable. As a salesman, would I rather call you or the average guy on the street? The odds of turning a sale are better with you and if you walk, not much lost but the salesman's time. They are not going to give you 22.3k on a car that's worth 17k to them.

If it was me, I would call him and do it by phone or email. I WOULD NOT bother to go in....total waste of your time.

I don't know, I ended up doing a very good deal with a little ford dealer in rural bowie Texas near the OK border a few years back all over email.

Traded in a 2011 Rav4 sport with rust all over it and 97k miles for $10,000.

Purchased a 2011 Sonata with 29k miles for $10,500.

In Texas you only pay tax on the price less trade, so I paid tax on 500 dollars of the car, and walked away with pretty much an even steven trade.

I would literally write $31,300 - $22,300 in sharpie and give a copy to every new minion who approaches you. Give them 30 minutes to inspect your ride and work a deal, when they can't make it work you simply walk out and move on.

I like you Mad Doggie, a fresh out of college kid with a fully paid off and modded Mustang is great. To potentially have a brand new GT is something few of your peers could ever dream of. Or you could turn out like me, old enough to afford a GT but well past my glory days. Heck, if I was gasing up a GT and meet a nice girl I better have my pack if Cialis in the glovebox, you know what I'm saying? If I could go back in the hot tub Time machine I would buy a GT and let the party commence. Your girlfriend may hate you, your Mom may hate you, heck your dog might even turn his head away from you. Your GT will always fire up with a rumble and welcome you inside. Get it before it's gone, and you're gone. YangGang2020.

This is a great post. Usually people on here are for the most part are anti new car. I believe life is far too short not to enjoy one's self in a responsible manner.

Why does buying a car from them make once him vulnerable?

MD, by all means play it out. Good learning experience if nothing else. Go in now then check back with them at the end of the month, maybe the sales mgr will need to hit a number and you get lucky. Stick to your number.

Get pre-arranged financing from your bank or credit union if you need it. It might be that the manufacturer or regional dealer group has some special trade in incentives. They do it for a variety of reasons, such as a refresh, meeting quarterly numbers, etc.
