I was calling around for prices for a radiator and came across http://www.radiator.com/index.php?cmp=sitematch. Next time you need a radiator, check them out.

I'm not impressed at all either. I asked about my '94 Grand Am. The "guy" said that it's a complicated fit so I would need to speak to one of the Pontiac techs but he's on the phone & would need to call me back. No thanks. Complicated? Either you have it or you don't.

I was looking all over the country for a radiator and compressor for an older Honda and they found it with in 10 miles of my home, great price, great service. The compressor was an OEM item, new and a third the price of Honda's obsolete parts service and half the price of several eBay offers. I'm completely satisfied and would go back to them for a/c or radiator stuff. I spent a week looking and from the phone call to stuff in my hands was one hour, no freight.

Who?

I think the interface drives lots of potential customers away. I saw the same thing on another site, so i went with radiatorbarn.com. They are cheap with free shipping and lifetime warranty. Although if I had to do it again I'd go with a local parts store with life time warranty for easy return.

radiator.com used to be a lot like radiatorbarn.com (in interface and search capability).

I'd be willing to bet you talked to "Chuck" at radiator.com and that the other tech was "on the phone" and "Chuck" quickly gets off the chat. Re-freshing the page, goes straight to a "page is busy, call this number" screen. I can assure you, Chuck is not real. I also got the "your radiator is a difficult install" while asking Chuck if his wife was still living in Wisconsin.

I'll try radiatorbarn.com or NAPA.

^That's what I hated about radiator.com. They have good prices on their radiators (way less than the autostore for the same radiator), but it's next to impossible to get to the ordering page. I figured out one time, but then forgot how.

Don't do it, Lonnie. Don't give your source to Critic. He'll spread the word across the entire electronic frontier and next thing you know, the demand will double the price.

Help stamp out this crippling obsession.

At the various auto repair shops I worked in, we would either buy radiators from the part stores, or call Modine. Sometimes Modine would have a better price, other times, Modine was the only company with the right part.

Now if OEMs would make cars with no plastic cooling system parts, that would really cut down on the number of repairs.

The "complicated fit" is a standard answer from them no matter what radiator you order. This way when you call them they will be sure to get you the correct radiator. I've bought two from them and the prices and service are excellent. Call today and get the radiator tomorrow.
