How can Fram filter be a better product. If you could make changes to their product line what would it be.All of the filters I’ve seen are built better than Fram. For example Fram should put metal end caps on all of their filters. They should also thicker metal on their oil filters.

Metal end caps are great for leaks - what else?

Make First Brands divest them, and get them to focus on quality-like they used to. Maybe bring @Motorking back & have him remind them how it should be done!

This. First brands loaded up in debt during the pandemic to buy Fram and other companies. Now that debt is maturing and they have to roll it to much higher interest rates. There credit rating was lowered by Fitch. I believe it’s now either junk or almost there. I can find it again if anyone here cares.

The goal of these companies is to cut costs then resell the business at a profit. So now your paying more but getting less. There far from the only outfit in this boat.

Keep the same filter efficiency but switch to a Champ E-Core Design, fiber end caps for the EG and metal for TG and drop the endurance and move the endurance design to the XG.

Metal end caps don’t do anything better - they just leak and waste media space …

Fiber ends seal with the leaf spring …

More pleats.
The PH16 our Jeeps take used to be horrible, but has been made better the last 8 years or so. I have no idea now as I’ve been running the Ultra.

The PH3600 (same threads and bypass psi for those who don’t know) was loaded with pleats back in the day. Hopefully that is still the case today.
