Are the '03-> transmissions failing? I know that the recall campaign reported that there was one instance of failure and it came after towing at a constant speed for several hours. The problem was "...insufficient lubrication of the transmission's secondary shaft second gear that can occur under certain driving conditions". The recall installed an oil-jet kit to "increase the flow of transmission fluid to the affected gear". If there was "any indication of damage to the gear, the dealer will replace the complete transmission assembly", so at the time, I was satisfied with the corporate response.

That's bad. The oil jet ket "might" fix the defect in 2nd gear lubrication, but it still doesn't address the problem with the 3rd gear clutch pack coming apart at anytime.

They are hoping that the little things they do will fool people into thinking that honda is still a good company.

Wasn't that a problem with the previous generation 5-speed used with the Acura? The '03 Accord is a different design and hasn't had a problem with the 3rd gear clutch pack, AFAIK.

Well, I don't know of any car builders that are requiring a oil jet type of fix it on their transmissions.....should NOT have happen in the first place. Also, there is NO WAY that Honda would have issued a recall because one person towed something in thier Accord. That would not warrant an across the board response the way Honda did. There are problems in Dodge.
