For Road_Rascal and all who pitched in on my research query about St. Paul a while back:

The online magazine "Thrilling Detective" has its latest issue up, with an excerpt from a novel by Max Allan Collins . . .

. . . and a story by yours truly! Look here: http://www.thrillingdetective.com/index.html

Scroll down a bit, and click on "Piece by Piece," by "Paul Sundeson" (my nom de plume, or maybe that should be nom de keyboard).

The editors' blurb reads: "Paul Sundeson also gives us a juicy period piece featuring two buddies. Piece by Piece is an early 60s tour of duty through the pre-Civil Rights Big Easy that will stick to your ribs."

Yes, I'm getting paid; just enough at today's prices to drive about 100 miles in the Buick. But here I am in company with print-published folks like Collins, Laura Lippman, and our local guy O'Neil DeNoux.

Congratulations!!

Thanks, all,

Someone I know commented that it must be nice to see myself as an author. To which I replied, "I've seen myself as an author since I was eleven. The trick is getting agents and editors to see me as one."

I have two others in the same series, and while TD turned down the first a while back, they may go for number 3. In the meantime, believe me, the item goes into any query letters I send out in the future!

Congrats! I know how you feel. I do some small articles and write ups for the N u tz & Boltz automotive newsletter (which is awesome BTW)and I still smile when I see my name in print!

Hey!

Think that's been showing up at my shop for about a year now. Mostly a "where to find it" guide for salvage parts? I'll have to pay more attention to articles.

Actually it is more geared to automotive repair and maintenance. They print "secret recalls and warrantys", tips on repairs and lists of trouble spots on vehicles. Plus it runs articles on different automotive topics from traveling to copycat parts and anything else car related. It's based out of Baltimore, Md. and there is also a radio show and website:
