if the oil doesn't break down, shear or exhaust its tbn and doesn't have high wear metals in it...why change it. Do you think you are getting some benefit?

I think most Dino's can go 7500 on normal driving in normal wear engines (e.g. not VW 1.8Turbo).

Millions in marketing have pushed easily fooled consumers to 3K and 5K OCI's. Those millions were payed by the oil companies and quick change shops...the only ones that benefit from short OCI's. Don't be a sucker and waste a valuable resource.

It makes them "feel good".

My wife's company car - a 2010 Equinox with the 3 litre 6 cylinder DI engine - just went a bit over 16000 KM before indicating an oil change. (and that was on the FF).

Replaced it with Mobil 1000 (conventional oil because it's a company car, if it was my vehicle, it would be synthetic).

Sample was kept for UOA, but I'm debating spending the money since it's not my vehicle.
