Those things are hybrids, electric motor drives the wheels and ice makes electric power ;)
actually, if you read the article, that one isn't. but it sounds like a unique mine layout...
the trucks go uphill empty, and downhill loaded.
the regenerative braking on the downhill, fully laden section captures enough power to replace most if not more than what was expended to drive the empty truck up the hill to the quarry.
 
I was initially concerned about the absence of a back bumper for daily driver usage, but then realized those large steel and rubber pneumatic 'thingies' could probably withstand a 90 MPH impact by the average SUV, 3/4 ton, garbage truck, .... whatever. So, no worries.
 
Would only go that route for hauling home your serious oil sale scores.

No need to make multiple trips back to the store. That wouldn't be very efficient.
