I'm 31 years old and I already have arthritis in my right pinky finger, most of my right hand, and both my elbows. Just got back from the doc.

Sheesh! I broke my arm above my right wrist about 7 years ago and that screwed my entire right arm/hand from the elbow down.

I feel like an old geezer. Some mornings, I can't even move that pinky finger. With my new carpet cleaning job, I'm using my hand to grip the trigger on the wand and the hydro-force all day, but luckily since this company is so [censored] backwards and needs someone to do both office work and work in the field, I'm spending a lot more time doing office work.

Owww. Sorry to hear that. I know what it's like, but at least mine started a little later in life. It doesn't really go away.

Sounds like my old job, 60% of my time was spent traveling and doing paperwork.

I guess now you have a good excuse when your wife give you of list of things to do over this long holiday weekend such as vacuum/wash/wax her car, do a bunch of yard work, gives you a shopping list so she doesn't have to do it...... etc, etc.

I'm 40 but I feel like I am 25-26. The secret is eating 4 bananas a day, 7 days per week.

That sounds like a recipe for a flooded toilet.

Sorry to hear that, Drew - I know what you're going through.

I'm 34, and have bad tendonitis in a lot of spots, including my hips, one of which was 'pinned' after it failed when I was 17.

You just have to appreciate the good days.....

Trust me, all that potassium will give you lots of enegry.
I no longer drink any coffee, before it was about 3 cups a day or some high octane caffine energy drink (Redbull, Amp, etc).

Pretty much puts my worries into perspective. I hope everything works out duane. Is it serious? I sure hope not. Good luck.

I hate to rain on the parade here but it's highly unlikely that potassium would have a noticeable impact on energy level. In excess OR deficiency it creates heart dysrhythmias and weakness.

Oh and Drew, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I too am 31 and have arthritis. We may already feel the pain of older men but we are only as old as we choose to be in heart! (Or something like that...lol)

no problem Drew, it seems like no matter what the issue is in life, there is some one out there who has it worse.

I am positive that sugary will fix me up, crosses fingers.

Hang tough, Duane. A positive mental attitude in this situation is everything. I know, as my younger brother, mom, and cousin dealt with cancer.

Easy to say when I'm not in your situation, I know, but resolve to kick it's A$$!

I can understand ya...I'm currently waiting for my back to heal. I have to be real careful, or I am going to pay for it later...

Duane- We're pulling for you! Keep it positive!

Drew, I've got a book around here somewhere (thinking about it, I prolly lent it to someone) by a Dr in the 60s who had some very interesting ideas, and pushed himself into diagnosed arthritis and brought himself back (bit like the Oz researcher who gives himself stomach ulcers, and proves that he can get rid of them).

Pushes the line that modern (even in the 60s) diets acidify the body, and can lead to inflamatory stuff, of which Arthritis is.

Simple stuff like eating an orange versus drinking it's juice. The former is alkalising, the latter acidifying (was also in New Scientist about a decade ago). Soft cheeses alkalising, hard acidifying, vegetables etc. etc.

This bloke had an additive of cod liver oil emulsified with a small amount of orange juice just before bed, and some hours after evening meals. Not drinking fluids for half an hour before meals, and for at least an hour after.

Workmate's wife has a sort of whole body arthritis, can lead to calcifications in organs, and uses fish oil tabs, instead of emulsified cod liver oil. Uses the other techniques, and gets some relief.

Crud! That's terrible, man.
Sounds like they caught it early though.
