And also good luck with the law of the road.

Remember that Canada's firearm laws are different than in a lot of parts of the US, so check before trying to enter.

Looking at driving conditions one year there complaints about the 'water puddles' on the highway, which were really fairly deep potholes filled with water and people were blowing tires when hitting them at speed.

Check before leaving.

Ancient and surely worthless in contemporary view - but maybe amusing :OT:
We wanted to go into Canada with our dog. We checked with the US side before we hit the Canadian border stop. The guy said that we needed a rabies vac document valid within 1 year (Mass was something like JUST ONE vaccination for the life of the dog at that time- 1970-something). He said that it was good that we checked before hitting the Canadians. He said that we would have eventually been allowed "back in" (we never left- sorta) ..but he too would have wanted to see a valid (current) rabies vaccination document and would have had to verify that we were indeed refused entrance by the Canadians and that we had a dog with us at the time. He said that he'd have no way of knowing that we didn't get the dog in Canada. No other documents were even asked for back then ..just a few questions (firearms, alcohol, etc.).

I did a 3 year tour in Alaska at http://www.wainwright.army.mil/sites/local/ from Feb 92 to Feb 95. Drove a 66 Chevelle up with 5 gallons of extra gas in the trunk but never needed it, 200 miles was about the max distance between OPEN gas stations then. I loved the drive but my Chevelle was totaled while I was sitting at a red light by a 3/4 ton truck 3 days after I arrived...

Keeping our military vehicles running at -60 while we were on field training exercises was never dull!
