oh
Next OCI will be three quarts Valvoline Durablend, one quart Quaker State Horsepower, half quart of Castrol Syn Blend.

All weights are 5w-20 as this is what the car calls for.

I normally don't blend like that...will this be ok?

IMO should be fine for a "normal" oci of about 4-5k miles. It's not ideal, but neither are Fram filters and I use them on rare occasions with no ill effects.

Conventional = Peak Performance = Advanced Durability
Semi-Synth = Synthetic Blend = Enhanced Durability
Synthetic = Q-Horsepower = Ultimate Durability

I really hate marketing.

I'm just curious about this "blending" thing? Since you
obviously have to buy the oil you start with, why not
just buy the same kind? Is it a curiosity, a fetish,
or just conversational perhaps?

Oil change specials come with 5 quarts of oil. For people with 4 cylinder engines there's usually a left over quart. Those leftover quarts add up.
