How much is scrap going for?

Do you know how much? Only $20 for 2k pounds here. And free for under 2k pounds once a month.

$60 a ton. If I had $60 I would be scrapping!

A friend of mine up on the hill 1 mile from me, helped me with a load of rotors, drums, and about 5 75 gal Rubbermaid trash cans full of oil filter guts etc. all told we got $79~

Seems low. I took some odds and ends in back in November at $.06 a pound.

So low around here the yards don't even advertise any more. Unfortunately, I'm overdue for some serious Spring Cleaning and I'll probably just take whatever the current prices are just to be rid of my scrap.

I had a hitch on a WRX I once owned and pulled a 4'X8' trailer with scrap metal to a salvage yard. The salvage yard was a muddy mess and all I got was $8. By the time I spent money for gas and at a coin op car wash, I broke even.

I now put scrap metal out by the trash on trash day and someone always picks it up which is fine by me.

I just dropped off a water heater today and got $4.50 for 100 lbs. Place was busy. Paid for the gas.
