After using Zaino for many years, then switching to Meguiar's #26 over the last little while (since that is what the detail shop I visit uses), I decided to buy some Meguiar's NXT liquid (but I have not tried it out yet).

I've heard it's very easy to remove and makes dark colored paint look even darker, which should work out well for me since my Corvette is black!

So for those of you that use it, how do you like it? I've heard it doesn't last too long though, what are your experiences here?

Looks awesome on our dark green GTP for a couple days.
You will definitely like it initially. But didn't seem to last for me.
They raised the price significantly this year so I don't think I'd buy it again. But I still have enough.

Patman, you should try the new Mother's SynWax FX line or Reflections. Both are polymer based and have received much better reviews on autopia.org then the NXT.

I put the NTX liquid on my wife's black 05 Toyota Solara two weeks ago and it looks great. Time will tell how long it will last.

It'll fill in light swirls and richen the paint's look but like others have said, durability is only fair. A different look than Zaino. Price in the States is about $15.00.

It cost me $30 plus tax up here! (so it was $34.50) I have a good friend who sells Zaino and I can get Z2 from him for $20 even.

So this NXT better work well for me! If not, I'll go back to Zaino. The one thing I love about Zaino is you can apply it in the hot sun and it still comes off easily.

I used it for several months and liked it fine. It is easy to use and looks nice. However, after a recent trip I couldn't believe how hard it was to remove the bugs from the car. That never happened when I was using Liquid Glass, so I went back to it.

I was a big Liquid Glass user for many years. When I bought my first new car in 1988, I put over 30 coats of Liquid Glass on it! (over a three year period of time)

The one thing I did not like was the messy residue it left behind, plus it always looked cloudy on my black paint. I needed to let the car sit in the hot sun for a while in order for that haziness to go away.

One can of LG used to cost me $40 up here! So I spent a ton of money on that stuff for a while, until I eventually I found a place in Niagara Falls, NY which sold it for only $7. I still have about half a can of the stuff at my parent's house.

When I first started using Liquid Glass, I also had the residue and streaking problem. A co-worker finally clued me in on how to use it properly. Liquid Glass likes to be put on in very, very thin coats. If you get any residue, you are putting it on too thick. Once I figured out how thin it really has to be, the car looked better, no residue, cost dropped and streaking happens very rarely.

Your mileage may vary........

Verily I mumble unto thee..... on my conveyance.... the Liquid Glass concoction (that makes my liver quiver with wondrous joy) is appreciative when applied in a back-and-forth motion vice a circular motion.

Not sure of the cause but the outcome is best when shunning a circular motion application. Since the product is a sealant applying it may be more akin to laying down paint on a house wall than when applying the typical auto wax or polish.

As previously stated, you don't need much product to cover a car. A little goes a loooong way.

And, when done, let the vehicle bake under the blazing sun alongside the mad dogs and Englishmen. Doing so is supposed to assist the Liquid Glass in "curing."

That's probably my problem, I do like to do circular motions when waxing. I don't think I used to put on LG too thick though, since I was always able to get quite a number of coats out of each can.

I'm dying to try this stuff out, but it's 90 degrees here with 60% humidity so it's not exactly ideal waxing weather!

Patman....I've tried both on my 74 vette (Mille Miglia Red) and I think I actually still prefer the Zaino. I've been using the NXT on the wifes car and find that it seems to hold up longer than some of the other "off the shelf" stuff. Just my observations.
Looking forward to hearing how you like it on the black.

You just did!!!!

I did name my first car Nostalgic, though; back when I did name my conveyances. I received a very cheap thrill when I could truthfully proclaim I was going to wax Nostalgic then grab the wax and do it.

And, much earlier, as a lad, I was so bright my parents called me son. But that's anuddah' story.

I put the NTX on my dark blue 4Runner this morning and it is really shining. It goes on easy and comes off easy as well.

I just finished waxing my car with NXT. It went on easy and came off very easily, even in the hot sun in Atlanta. It has a great shine so far. Time will tell how durable it is. I used to use Meguiar's Gold Class and was very happy with that however I have a feeling I will like the NXT even better. I have also used the NXT protectant and it has performed great for me.

Would that dark blue you are refering to also be known as "Stratmosphere Mica" blue?

I also use NXT wax on my 04 Stratmosphere Mica blue 4 Runner. I usually get about a month out of each waxing before it looses its shine. I love how easy it applys and buffs off!

I finally got around to trying NXT yesterday! It wasn't quite as easy to remove as people say, however it was very humid here too, so that probably hindered things. I had to go over the entire car a second time when buffing it off, just to get rid of some hazy streaks.

It's only been a month since it was waxed with Meguiar's #26, so the shine looks the same now as it did before. So the NXT doesn't seem to have made my black paint any darker. But maybe I'll notice it on the second coat.

I'll probably do one coat per month from now until the fall, so I won't have a problem if this stuff isn't super durable. I love using my new random/orbit buffer though, it made the entire job go much faster! I had the entire car done in about 50-55min!

Boaz, Yes thats the same color as my 03 and when its cleaned up it really shines. Do you have the V6 or V8? I have the V8 Limited. The V8 is a pain in the *** to change the oil I have to take off the skid plate to get to the oil filter.

Patman, Which random orbital do you have and is it easy to operate? I have been thinking about getting the Porter Cable.
