How many hrs of sleep did you get last night?

Out of many things I enjoy about retirement is if I do miss sleep at night I'm not under the sway of the time clock to get up. Just sleep in a little. Also the occasional nap in the afternoon is nice.

Previous night I only got 2.5 so I was pooped and out by 11:30 (normally it's in the 2 AM to 5 AM range) and woke up at 5 this morning. Best night's sleep I've had this whole week in terms of quality. Woke up actually feeling awake, which rarely happens. But I'm starting to get sleepy so maybe a nap to get me through the rest of the day.

I was a quite tired last night, amd got to bed only at 1am. Woke up feeling pretty good and thinking it must be 10 or so. It was only 8:30, so 7.5 hours. 7~9 hours seems the norm, and 6 or less will usually trigger an afternoon nap.

I can function on 2 hours of sleep as well, as long as the next day I get my full 6 hours. If I have 2 days in a row of a low amount of sleep though I'm a zombie. That's what I was like for 18 months straight when I worked the midnight shift. I will never do that again no matter how much money they offered me. On that shift I rarely got more than 4 hours of sleep a day, and it was never a full deep sleep either.

I went to Italy for several years and I wanted to go to bed at dawn till I got used to the time change. I worked afternoons and midnights also but was easier there than here. Daylight must make our internal clocks reset.

About seven.
I am good to go on six-seven good hours.
OTOH, I have the odd night where I keep thinking and can't seem to get to sleep.
Even then, once I get moving and doing things, I can get through the day fully functional.

7 last night it varies though. I work 12hr shifts 2 on - 2 off - 3 on - 2 off - 2 on - 3 off.. basically. Usually the first days back I only get 5-6hrs the night before. Then 8 hrs on the other days. Hard to adjust!
