TY! It is made for New england tight singletrack. I had it built in '99. I just put the studded tires on again, as the temps are going into the single digits (F). Great fun!

My new/old Ellsworth Truth. The frame is a 2008 model (warranty replacement), while the bulk of the other components are a mix of 2002-2006 model parts. On a MTB, nothing stays original for very long, if the bike is ridden.

My father was into the bike scene big time back in the 80's, he got into mountain bikes back when Gary Fisher was coming on strong. When he passed several years ago I was left with a vintage Gary Fisher Tandem Mountain bike, I have not seen any like it and cannot find any pics or related info on this model. If anyone is a Gary Fisher aficionado please pm with any info, thanks.

Here's my gas saver. I made one trip home from work on it 45km's (28 miles), and one return trip to pick my car up. I will have to work on my fitness level before I can manage to do that round trip on a regular basis. It's a little uncomfortable when I'm used to the big couch in my Oldsmobiles.

Nice bike, I almost bought a rocky mountain soul in 1994, rigid forks back then... I got a norco vector instead with some wacky suspension fork on it. I still use the front rim from the vector, everything else broke or was upgraded.

I also have a 45 km commute but I'm thinking of driving halfway then unloading the bike, a 50km day I can handle but not 90km on a regular basis. You should get some more efficient tires too, those ones probably cost you a few kmh compared to slicks...

Here is my ride. I switch out the tires depending on what I am riding (it takes full knobbies and also road tires).

I'm in the process of switching some stuff around which is why there is no chain or cables...

This evening was overcast and a bit foggy, so there was convenient flat lighting to take some bike shots with decent detail.

The only original parts on that bike are the frame (Sussex), the handlebar, the rear wheel with Nexus 8 Red Band gear hub, the rear brake, and the complete shaft drive assembly (Sussex). Nothing else is original.

You can see the Sigma NiHM battery that I use. I can attach a second battery on top of the stem.
