How big is YOUR filter stash?

Just two spares right now a Fram Ultra XG 3980 and a standard Wix pf47 cross. I will be running the XGs double intervals and don't want to have more filters than the life of the car.

No spares for my Taurus I'll probably pick up a TG or XG 3600 at wally when the time comes.

2 spares for each car, One I use between changes and one for my next change. I use advance auto parts TRT30 30% off any order, $50 max discount when i stock up, esp if they are on sale too.

I sometimes keep a spare air filter handy but just for one car as my xplorer has a K&N Cold air kit.

Buy my oil in the 5 quart jugs at Walmart, I keep that stocked up as Walmart is just plain cheap for oil.

While we are "In the business" of selling filters, what is pictured is mostly my buddies for use on his ever growing fleet of light truck and ag equipment. He has 3 4wd trucks, 2 ATVs, 2 combines, 3 4wd tractors, (2) 2wd diesel tractors and 4 gas powered tractors. Most require engine oil, hydraulic, fuel, coolant, air and cabin air filters.

I am pretty handy and can fix a car until it's rotted away. And in Iowa, the salty roads will see to it that there won't be much left, unless you're really good at washing them in the winter.

Some more just showed up today: The long, narrow boxes are tractor cabin air filters...

The_Eric,
So, um, do you have any preference for one brand of filters over any other?

If there were a prize for the biggest stash, I think you would be getting it.

My stash is 8 oil, 4 cabin, and 2 air for the Outback. For the Alero, 8 oil and 1 air. All NAPA Gold, except 1 STP oil filter for the Alero that I bought long before I started visiting BITOG. That semi-annual 50% off sale for Gold filters is hard to beat. Can't buy cheap filters for much less.

Truthfully? No. I like Hastings/Baldwin, Donaldson, some the Champion Labs made stuff, the Euro goodies... And of course, Wix/NAPA Gold- and at those prices, it's hard not to!

I have 12 M1 oils filters ( all were purchased at a price of $5-$6 each)

1 wix oil filter

1 P1 oil filter

2 purolator cabin air filters

2 Purolator air filters

I haven't intentionally stashed them, but I have some filters that I decided not to use and are still sitting around.

2 Mobil M1-201 which I haven't used because they have an obviously leaking ADBV (you can blow through them very easily). I had bought 3 and installed one of them anyway, but the time it took to build oil pressure at every cold start convinced me to take it off. The other 2 are still in the box.
I meant to contact Mobil about that, but never did. Stopped buying them though.

So I eventually switched to Purolator PureOne. And now I see all the tears Purolator is starting to have. I have 1 unused PL24011, I haven't decided what I'll do with it. It may join the rejects. I guess buying filters in advance of actual need hasn't been working in my favor so far.

mine nothing as impressive as that but i have a few filters on hand.

mostly motorcraft, purolator/qstate filters one or 2 micogards and napa proselects.

and a stray defense in there somewhere.

I have nine filters in my stash, which will last me for about nine years. I keep them in storage under cool conditions. All of the cars I have owned have been kept for very long periods. If I ever lose it to an accident, I will donate the filters to a mechanic I know.
