Hi, I sold my van two weeks ago and bought a 2019 Honda Civic manual transmission. I was really missing the enjoyment of a 6-speed manual so I'm glad to have it back.
I have noticed that the air conditioning is nowhere close to my sienna or my older Corolla. looking at some of the Honda Civic forums, there are multiple complaints it seems about weak air conditioning system.
I have my thermostat set at 65, regardless of external temperature it's still only blowing cool, not cold. Before I take it into the dealer to have a take a look around, can I just use a regular thermometer to see what air temp I'm getting at the vent? If so, what should I ideally aim for if I set the internal temp at 65. Thank you

Depends on the ambient temp & humidity, but I'd say on a warm day (85F), you should get ~40 from the vents.

Usually they want 25 degrees below ambient temp, depending on humidity. Figure on an 100 degree day, you may only see 75 or so on max. I usually test with fan speed no higher than 50-75% and just use a cheapie meat thermometer, but yours should work also.

Every time they bring out a new, environmentally friendly, government mandated (patented) refrigerant to replace the old, environmentally destructive, outlawed (patent expired) refrigerant, it doesn't work as well.

By all means have it checked, it's not unheard of for a new car to leak.

Is 65 the lowest that you can set the ac? Set it lower. Is there a valve under the hood that controls coolant flow to the heater core? Is it closed all the way? What are the vent temps?

My 2017 Fusion blows 40-45 degree air on just about any day.
Buy the thermometer and check it at different settings and get some hard data..
Agree with procedures that Jamesbond suggested.....

i owned a bought new trans am that had no water shut off valve- caused bad ac.
cure was a manual water valve on the fender wall, - off in april, open it in november/

Many vehicles no longer have a Heater Control Valves.....With Zone Temp Controls, Manufacturers had to delete them.

The 2 vehicles I have with Zone Temp controls.....2006 2500HD & 2000 Avalon. Both have ice cold A/C!

Same with the Grand Prix on both counts. That grandpa car has the coldest r134 system I've ever seen. It will give you hypothermia at 100F. I wish it had climate control that would cycle the compressor instead of having to turn the heat up. It's the only r134 car I've ever seen blow fog. I've had/seen several r12 cars that would do it.
