2024 CBR600RR, 26K miles. The oil filter had 2,683 miles on it and was filled with Amsoil Metric Motorcycle Oil 10W30.

This is my first time cutting one open, and I used a Sawzall, so please excuse the messy cuts and the red rag lint on it.

That is really unfortunate. The older Roki manufactured filters used to have a design where the ends of the media weren't fully capped with a metal end plate, but was capped only halfway with a plastic cap, that exposed more of the filter media. I'd think that this would also provide better flow, without having full metal endcaps in the way.

I'd rather have that design back again.

Like always, now you provide a crummier design for the customer... at the same price (or more).

Now that the design of the Honda OE filter isn't much different than all of the other filters out there (metal end caps), I'll start using the HiFlow Filtro HF204 filter for half the price.

Looks similar construction to filters made under PGI. Center tube and bypass valve looks very similar. Note this is a P-gasket filter with a torque call out on the can.

Lot of factors involved with the "flow vs dP" of an oil filter. Doubt there is much difference between them, probably a PSI or two at max flow with hot oil.
