Hit 300k in the F150 3.7L n/a Cyclone

Those engines have internal water pumps that is a VERY expensive repair.
Not as bad as new engines that have the timing components in the BACK of the engine connected to the transmission.
Oh? Timing chain tensioner issues? Need to change the timing belt? Just go ahead and pull the engine.

Not on the F-150! You’re thinking of Explorers and other transverse applications.

301k and counting. Not spotless but not horrible. Ive never cleaned under the hood

I always liked the ford modulars 4.6L and 5.4L, and the big V10, but the 3.3, 3.5, and 3.7 liter cyclones take the durability to a new level. Even on the interceptors with the dreaded water pump they can still bring mid 200k before needing a replacement.

We hit 230,000 on a 3.7 Cyclone in my wife's Mazda. The 2nd internal water pump repair was the deal breaker for us. $1650 and then $2600 within 70,000 miles was too much for us. I used Delvac 1300 15w-40 in it and the tech who replaced the last water pump said it was the cleanest 230K mile motor he had ever seen. 10K miles OCI.

Can’t be true, everyone knows Fords are all steaming piles. Read it on here many times so I know it’s true.

Seriously, nice accomplishment, 300k on any vehicle is not real common. I remember when 100k was a lot but nowadays 200 isn’t that unusual.
He only got there because he avoided your oil recommendations
