Don't worry, global warming is supposed to be a de-crudifier.

I dunno, was the last time we had global warming right before the ice age?

It really is the wind that sucks. I was in the Adirondacks a few times at -35F actual temps. but no wind. It's quite "bearable" when you're dressed for it, but throw in a few mph of wind, and fuhgetaboutit.

Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 is even thinner than Mobil 1 0w30 at a lot of cold temps. I imagine the 5w-20 is quite thin too.

Neither the Previa or the BMW started yesterday when it was ~ -40, even after boosting them so I'm guessing the coolant and battery were both frozen over.

My brother's 2002 Protege started up fine, although noisy, without being plugged in and it's running Rotella's CJ-4 10w30.

50/50 coolant mix is good down to about -37, and the battery is variable.

Be happy they didn't start with frozen coolant or you'd get the pleasure of blowing a rad hose.

Same location, on Tuesday I drove to school and when I got back to the car about 8 hours later, it didn't start. I am going to try to get it back tomorrow! I am using MaxLife 5w30 Synthetic Blend in my 91 Civic.

Two months???? Not here. We'll be lucky if we hit +30 in 4 months. You must be in the deep south... Any wineries or rattle snakes near by?
